Catherine Sherwood to Launch Financial Services Practice for Social Business Consulting Group

April 11, 2011

Founding partner, Catherine Sherwood, brings her knowledge of social media and financial services regulations to Social Business Consulting Group.

Palo Alto, CA – April 11 2011– Catherine Sherwood, a Social Media Consulting Group (Sobizco) founding partner, has been tasked with setting up its Financial Services Practice. Sobizco is a partnership of seventeen social media strategists from the U.S., Europe, and Asia Pacific, all working within a client-proven, unified set of methodologies to help enterprises gain a sustainable competitive advantage. “I am pleased to be part of an experienced and diverse global team of certified social media strategists. Some of us have collaborated for several years on a variety of corporate social media consulting engagements. We now have the opportunity to combine our experience, from organizations such as HP (NYSE:HPQ), IBM (NYSE:IBM), Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV), Franklin Templeton (AMEX:FTF), and GE (NYSE:GE) to deliver enterprise-level social business consulting services worldwide,” says Sherwood.

Sobizco is the brain child of principal co-founder Axel Schultze (founder of the Social Media Academy) who leads the vision of enabling Fortune 1000 companies to embrace social media with effective business results. “We apply success-proven methods, models and frameworks to tackle large and complex projects,” Schultze explains. “Once corporate business leaders decide they want to transform their organizations into a more compelling business with customers who are strong brand advocates, we help them develop a strategy that works not only for hundreds of managers and thousands of employees, but also for millions of customers.”

Sherwood says, “The financial services industry is relationship and referral driven, making the social web a critical place to be. Financial institutions need a social media consulting firm that not only delivers a unique strategy, but also understands the regulatory environment, knows how to use tools that monitor interactions and provide proper recordkeeping, develop policies and procedures, and train all client-facing individuals on social media best practices. I am pleased to join my other Sobizco co-founders – Jennifer Meltzer who has worked with Principal Financial Group (NYSE:PFG) Aetna (NYSE:AET), ING, and Franklin Templeton in the U.S., and Michael Green who was Oracle’s (NASDAQ:ORCL) Asia Pacific Vice President for the Financial Services Industry – to launch the Financial Services Practice”
